Another WARNING this review will include SPOILERS for S2EP5 of The Mandalorian.
As Mando (Pedro Pascal) and The Child finally make it to the planet Corvus, we meet a shadowed Jedi dual wielding two white lightsabers fighting soldiers in a burned forest. As the fight finishes it is revealed to be Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). Once Mando reaches the village he is asked by Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto) to kill Ahsoka in exchange for a beskar spear. Once Mando finds Ahsoka she is able to read The Child's mind and reveals that his name is Grogu and was once a youngling in training on the Jedi Temple on Coruscant prior to Order 66. After Ahsoka and Mando defeat the evil villagers and it is revealed that the head leader of the village is working for Thrawn, a character from the animated television show STAR WARS: Rebels. Once Mando and Ahsoka take back the village Ahsoka orders Mando to take Grogu to a planet where Grogu can connect with the force and call out to a Jedi. The episode ends with Mando and Grogu heading off.
What an incredible episode. Once again The Mandalorian has managed to create another incredible episode filled with great acting, story telling, and just the right amount of fan service to keep old fans excited for more. Rosario Dawson, the actress who plays Ahsoka Tano does an incredible job portraying a character who has only been seen in animation. Watching her performance felt so real to how the character is played in the animated television show. Along with her incredible acting, the fighting choreography is also stunning. Seeing Ahsoka battle Elsbeth invokes the feeling of nostalgia, since the movements are slower like the battle between Obi-Wan and Vader's battle from Star Wars: A New Hope. Along with the fighting Rosario Dawson also shows great emotion especially in the scene where she refuses to train Grogu, because of her past. You can see on her face the agony and pain she is still in because of Anakin Skywalkers betrayal to the Jedi. Overall this is an amazing episode that will keep fans excited and wanting more Mandalorian.
