Finally after an incredible 8 weeks of The Mandalorian, we finally make it to the season 2 finale! One final warning before you continue, SPOILERS AHEAD. As Mando (Pedro Pascal) and crew plan there attack on Moth Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) to save baby Grogu they decide to ask for some extra help from Bo Katan (Katte Sackhoff). Once Bo Katan agrees to help Mando, they set out on their mission. Once aboard Moth Gideon's ship, they fight there way through stormtroopers to find Grogu. Then we see the epic dual between Mando using the beskar spear and Moth Gideon wielding the dark sabar. After what seems like a victory the crew is surrounded by dark troopers and are then saved by a mysterious Jedi revealed to be Luke Skywalker! Who then takes Grogu to train, which then leads to a sad exchange between Mando and Grogu before they part ways.

Alright first of all I know I skimmed a lot of the entire episode, so I do recommend watching the full episode for yourself on DisneyPlus! Over all this is an incredible season finale which completely topples the last season finale. "The Rescue" has everything a Star Wars fan could want from a Star Wars episode. First off the episode is filled with incredible stunt choreography that is just amazing to watch. From Bo Katan and Cara Dune's (Gina Carano) epic team up and Mando's dual with Moth Gideon. Even when a stormtrooper falls into space in the background, watching him float away is just incredible attention to detail that other films just won't pay attention to. Another great example is how whenever Moth's dark saber collides with Mando's spear you can see the spear heat up where as when Ahsoka battled Elsbeth in episode 5, the spear did not heat up. This is because the dark saber is a built different than a regular lightsaber, and is more sword like whereas regular light sabers are poll shaped. Another great scene is Luke Skywalker appearing and defeating the dark troopers, which invokes the similar scene of Darth Vadar defeating the Rebels at the end of Rogue One. Along with great attention to detail, this episode does a great job setting up future episodes and pushing character development. When Mando says his final goodbyes to Grogu, Mando shows his face to Grogu for the first team. Also in front of Luke and the rest of the crew showing how Mando's point of view has changed about his ideals about showing his face. It also sets up the upcoming Book of Boba Fett show, coming December of next year. To sum it up simply, Jon Favreau has once again done a great job wrapping up another season of The Mandalorian, and I can't wait to see what comes next!
