Dune one of the most anticipated films of 2021 is finally here! With an incredible cast consisting of Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, and many more, there is already plenty of star talent alone to make this movie success. Add that with the beautiful music by Hans Zimmer and directing by Denis Villeneuve and you got the making for a beautiful movie, and let me say it does not disappoint.
Many believed it would be very difficult for this film to be adapted to the big screen with how much lore and story telling there is to digest. I myself was very skeptical when I first heard this movie was being adapted after seeing how "interesting" the original Dune film was in 1984. Luckily I was worried for nothing and this film was exactly what I was hoping for and more. Everything from the exposition and story telling felt so smooth and natural. The acting was incredible, as you would expect from an impressive cast such as this one. Oscar Issac especially did an incredible job playing Leto Atriedes and captured the leaders cunning and respectful yet humble rule perfectly. Although what made this movie perfect was the beautiful cinematography by Greg Faiser. Every scene in this movie was absolutely stunning and felt so pleasing to watch. It felt as if even though I was in the audience I was actually there in every scene. Putting all these parts together create such a wonderful film that Dune fans will love every second of, and new comers as well will cherish.
That is not to say that this movie does not suffer from one major problem. That problem being how incomplete it feels. As the movie begins (and this is not a spoiler) the title card reveals that this is only part one. Keeping that in mind allowing this movie to fill incomplete is fine, but there has not yet been confirmation of a Dune Part Two. Which could potentially mean no second film happening if the success of this film is not met, which would then change the perspective of this film. That said I still absolutely loved this film and anyone who watches it will be astounded at how incredible pleasing it is to view from a visual and sound standpoint. Definitely go watch Dune if you haven't already and leave in the comments what you think!
